Requests for the exercise of rights, what supporting documents?

A bad habit has developed in order to respond to requests to exercise rights: Systematically ask for an identity card.

And yet, ensuring the identity of a person exercising a right is essential. Responding to an usurper or the wrong person constitutes a personal data breach that puts the data controller at risk of being sanctioned.
